Classes
Elementary classes of academically sound instruction are geared for the average and above average student. Christian education empowers our children with strong character to make a difference in the future.
Admission Requirements
Kindergarten applicants must be 5 years old by Sept. 1 of school year. First grade students must have completed kindergarten. Application for the new school year begins in February. New students will need to take a grade level readiness test. Decisions for admission will be based on Personal interview, successful test evaluation, evaluation of previous records, individual readiness for the grade level, space availability, and the belief that MBCA can meet the needs of the applicant and his/her family.

Enrichment Activities

Field Trips
Field Trips are planned for children in kindergarten through grade 6. The field trips are to enhance units of study and vary from year to year. Students in kindergarten and first grade usually visit a farm in the fall and go to the zoo in the spring. Science trips are made to various museums. Visits to area historical sites, such as Washington-on-the-Brazos, San Jacinto Monument, or Forbidden Gardens make history lessons come alive. Musical events to the symphony or ballet enrich the fine art lessons. |
Library
All elementary students visit the library once every week. Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth grade students are reading buddies to our kindergarten students. Great friendships are made through this special time. Special reading incentives encourage all students to check out books weekly and to read.
Chapel
Every preschool and elementary student attends chapel once a week. The senior pastor, the educational director, the youth minister, and the Bible teacher rotate the chapel presentation each week. The chapel lessons are planned for a year to follow a consistent theme. Teachers are encouraged to reinforce the lesson through their classes during the week.
Hot Lunch
Hot lunches are catered through an outside vendor. Menu calendars are sent home with the students at the end of the month for the following month. Students may choose which meals to purchase during the month. Many students bring their lunch from home.
Chess Club
Chess club is an after school activity. Upper elementary students practice chess for a spring tournament.
